It’s a Very Merry Autumn
Summer is officially over, and now we’re heading into fall. Fall comes with pumpkin spiced everything, football, hot apple cider, big bowls of chili and our annual fall fest, It’s a Very Merry Autumn. This year we will be celebrating on Saturday, October 28th from 4-6pm. This get together is not just for kids; there will be something for everyone – young, old, single and married. You can come hang out, have dinner and enjoy a s’more around the fire pit, or you can get involved in one of our activities or contests.
Men, if you love to cook and like a little friendly competition, the winner of our 2017 chili cook-off, Shane Rogers, challenges you to bring it on.
Ladies, this year we’re adding a pumpkin bake-off! Enter your best pumpkin dessert. It can be pie, bread, cake or cookies – if it’s sweet and includes pumpkin, it qualifies.
And for all the creatives, decorate your car and enter it into the “Trunk or Treat” contest. Our 2016 champions, the Riley family, are defending their win and going for the 2017 trophy!
Finally, we will be holding a costume contest for all ages, no scary costumes please.
The concession stands will be selling hot dogs, chili, soda and snacks for $1.
Cost to attend the event is one large bag of candy per family. For our planning purposes, please register online, at the Information Desk or in the Town Square through October 22.
Entry into the competitions and contests is available when you register.
Candy donations for the Trunk or Treat are appreciated and will be collected on Sundays in the Town Square and Sanctuary. Please donate bags of individually wrapped candy only.
School of Word & Worship - Wednesdays
Join the School of Word and Worship over the next few weeks as we look at five pillars of truth that provide the foundation of stability for our lives. This week we’ll continue discussing the Presence of God and Prosperity. Ask yourself these questions:
• What is the Presence of God?
• Why is it important?
• How do I live in it daily?
• Why does God care if I prosper?
• His intention is full-life prosperity, not just financial.
• What does His prosperity look like in my life?
Join us this week as we delve a little deeper in these truths. The School of Word and Worship meets every Wednesday in the main sanctuary from 7:00-9:00pm. This gathering is free and is for everyone. Children’s ministry is open from 7:00-8:30pm each week. For more details, contact Pastor Cathy, CathyM@livingbyfaith.com.
Recording Studio Engineering Workshop
The Union Creative Team has a passion to equip local artists and entrepreneurs for success while providing a platform and the opportunity to express and showcase their creativity.
As part of the equipping aspect, The Union Recording Studio is holding a basic audio engineering workshop on October 21st from 12-5pm. This training workshop will be run by studio audio engineers and producers who recognize the benefit this training provides to the creative artist. Come and learn about the art of what takes place in the recording studio and how understanding what happens in the studio can enhance your artistic capacity in writing, vocals and instrumentation.
The price for this event is $25 and is open to all ages. Look for more info on the Union Creative Instagram or UC@livingbyfaith.com.
In today’s world, it’s important that men have a place to relax, laugh, and build community - a safe place where they can discuss issues pertinent to them. The Men’s Meeting offers in-depth bible studies and discussions centered around topics relevant to men and which foster spiritual growth and maturity. Take a break from life, make lasting connections, and grow spiritually.
The Men’s Ministry meets the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month at 8:00am in the Mountain sanctuary. Men of all ages are invited to be a part. For more information, contact email@example.com.
Releasing His Presence Worship Art
This month on October 21st at 6pm, Releasing His Presence Worship Art has invited Katie White, the Creative Director and Artist of Sara Kate Couture, to return for another session. Katie will be teaching us in the techniques of abstract painting, which she believes is akin to praying in the Spirit. She will be demonstrating her approach and guiding us through the process of exploring and creating our individual piece. At the end of our session we’ll share prophetic insights over each individual piece. This evening will be fun and open to all levels of painters. Please register online or at the Information Desk by October 18th. The cost to attend is $20.00 which includes all materials. Join us at 6pm in the Town Square for a fun evening of creativity and fellowship. For more information please see Pastor Sally or Maritza Lovette.

Fall Hike to Hawksbill
Hikers, fall is here and it’s time to hit the trails again! On Saturday, October 28th we’ve organized a hike to Hawksbill on Skyline Drive. This will be a moderate hike with some amazing views. If you’d like to join us, we’ll be meeting at 9am at the commuter lot located at the intersection of Routes 211 and 229. Make sure to pack a healthy lunch/snacks, plenty of water and wear weather appropriate clothing and hiking shoes. For our planning purposes, please register online or at the Information Desk by October 26th. If you’d like more information, contact Mike Armstrong at firstname.lastname@example.org. In the case of rain, the hike will be rescheduled to November 11th.
Ladies, if you enjoy connecting with other women, we’d like to suggest you check out our Women’s Life groups. Both groups are exploring how we can grow in the heart knowledge of Father God by living life from relationship and Presence. They’re using Bill Johnson’s book, “God is Good, He’s Better Than You Think.” Our Tuesday morning group, The Deborah Company, meets in the Town Square at 9:15 for a time of prayer followed by the meeting at 10am. Our Sunday group, The Pursuers, meets on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month at 9am in Building B. For more information on either of these groups please contact email@example.com.

Sometimes it’s hard to find where you fit in. If you’re looking for a place to get involved, want an opportunity to meet some amazing people, and love to help behind the scenes – we’d love to have you join us on October 28th. We’re looking for a few volunteers to help serve chili and hot dogs during our fall festival, “It’s a Very Merry Autumn.” No cooking skills or prior experience required. Please contact Pastor Bebette for more details.
