Teen L.I.V.E. Youth Ministry

Teens Living In Victory Everyday! That’s the objective of the Teen LIVE youth ministry. Teens are full of hope and promise for the future and at the same time can be faced with difficult family, social, and relational circumstances. Teen LIVE stands on the core belief that God’s Word provides the answer for every situation. It endeavors to impart words of faith into the teens so that each one learns to apply God’s Word and walk in victory over every circumstance that confronts them.

Teen LIVE meets every Tuesday evening for high-energy praise and worship (with their own youth band), along with practical teachings and opportunities to connect and build lasting relationships with others.Teen LIVE has plenty of activities to keep teens engaged year-round – pool parties, picnics, concerts, amusement parks, game nights – and many other things. Teens also gather together every Saturday evening for “Ground Floor,” a time of intimate praise and worship and intense prayer. Teen LIVE is open to all middle and high school aged teens.

Women’s Life

God has designed women as unique individuals, full of spirit and power, designed to love and to be loved. Armed of life experiences, Pastor Joan Lubbe exudes a passion to see women become who God intends for them to be – passionate, exuberant women of faith exemplifying the miracles of God in everyday life. The weekly meetings stimulate an excitement among women to understand their potential, fulfill their purpose, and live victoriously above life’s challenges.

Home Groups

The many benefits to small groups make it an exciting and rewarding experience for all. Our groups consist of about a dozen people who usually gather in someone's home in order to get to know each other, grow together spiritually and experience God in very tangible way.

In a society that is increasingly characterized by fragmented relationships, small groups provide a family atmosphere where no one has to stand alone. Group members understand the importance of providing care for one another because they see themselves as contributors and not just consumers; they are givers and not just attendees.

Many of us think our struggles are unique to us, but in a small group we find out that personal problems are universal. It’s exciting to find out that the members of your group have not only struggled with common problems but have found common solutions in God’s Word. In a small group setting you can ask questions, participate in discussions and hear others share their insights and illustrations of the truth you are trying to grasp. Spiritual growth involves life change and this is realized more fully in the context of a small group.

God has given each of us spiritual gifts to effectively serve one another. We can not only assist you to discover your gift, but a group environment is a wonderful place to steward the gifts God has given you. Prayer is another area where you will experience the power of God in a significant way. There are many promises in the Bible related to group prayer. As we pray together with others we are drawn together and find answers to the needs in our lives.

The early church met as a large group for corporate worship at the temple and then as small groups from house to house. God intends for His people to meet in small groups so they can experience this same sense of spiritual community. The New Testament also clearly states that these were communities with a purpose; they were used to fulfill the Great Commission. It may be that some of your friends who don’t know the Lord wouldn’t be caught dead in a church, but these same people may be open to an invitation to a casual group in a home. In a small group unbelieving friends can ask questions and express honest doubts without feeling uncomfortable. Experiencing the love, warmth and honesty of a group will make them more receptive to the good news.

Raising Great Parents

The course provides parents with an understanding of child growth and development with a special focus on children’s needs and their desires at various ages. It will teach you how to maintain that crucial relationship bond with your child at all times. The groups take place in a safe environment that will allow you to share personal child-rearing experiences, while at the same time providing you with scientific and spiritual answers to the challenges you are facing.

Raising Great Parents is broken into four sections which run from four to six weeks in length:

Conception to 18 months   (4 week class)

From the moment of conception trust is being developed by the developing baby.  This section covers the experiences in the womb, experiences after birth, the development of the newborn child, and the steps parents can take to ensure they are trustworthy, reliable and responsible to their baby.

18 months to 3 years      (4 week class)

Developing language is a key factor in setting children up for success so that they can function independently of their parents.  This section discusses the importance of teaching children how to appropriately ask for what they want and need.   You’ll learn how to set limits and boundaries with children and teach toddlers how to accept those limits.  The classes prepare mothers and fathers to parent in confidence, endurance and wisdom, while maintaining a heart to heart relationship with their child.

3 years to 6 years             (6 week class)

This section helps parents learn how to stay connected to their child in love, while holding them accountable for their choices as more responsibility is introduced into their lives. It is the parents’ responsibility to develop the child so that they take the correct initiative.  You will also learn how to read and deal with manipulation tactics used by children to get what they want.

7 years to 12 years           (6 week class)

Every parent wants their child to be competent!  This section prepares the parent to raise children who are good problem solvers in life.  It prepares parents to teach children how to confront their fears about success.  It looks at how parents think, how children think, and develops strategies to help the family work together to maintain a healthy relationship.

Personal Development Groups

LIFE TRANSFORMATION COURSE

This course is designed to conquer the stumbling blocks to personal happiness and fulfilled relationships. You will identify those life experiences that are obstacles to your emotional growth and maturity, while recognizing the pathway towards personal wholeness. The course consists of three modules and it is recommended that each be taken sequentially:

Module 1: Connecting and Attaching in Relationships

We all want to feel the comfort that comes from belonging. However, if we didn't attach to our care-givers in safe and secure ways at a very young age, we set up unhealthy methods of connecting to others in later life. This module reveals our methods of attaching and offers healthy solutions that will transform your relationships.

Module 2: Overcoming Rejection and Receiving Acceptance

Rejection is emotionally painful and the effects can last well into adulthood. Identify areas in your life which have been affected by rejection and get the tools to experience your healing.

Module 3: Freedom from Abuse

Explore the damaging childhood wounds of emotional, verbal, sexual and physical abuse. You will gain an understanding of how these abuses, if left covered and unspoken, create devastating hurts that affect us and our relationships. The course will gently guide you through the steps of recognition and on towards healing, forgiveness and hope.

CO-DEPENDENCY COURSE

Most people are affected by co-dependency and yet don't realize it. It affects an individual's ability to have a healthy, mutually satisfying relationship. Can you answer “yes” to any of these questions?

 Do you keep quiet to avoid arguments?

 Are you always worried about the opinions of others?

 Do you feel rejected when significant others spend time with friends?

 Do your relationships feel one-sided?

 Do you make excuses for others?

 Are you uncomfortable expressing your feelings to others?

 Do you think people in your life would go downhill without your

constant efforts to keep them afloat?

If any of these questions apply, this course will help you identify those old, unhealthy behaviors that are sabotaging your relationships.
